“Potty problem” is something which I actually dread as a mother especially when having a conversation between my children and me. When I notice my kids have stayed a couple of days without pooping, this thought makes a chill run down my spine since I know I might be dealing with constipation which is certainly not a good experience for parent.
Most of the causes of constipation in children are similar to those of adults, these are inadequate consumption of dietary fiber, medical side effects, delaying or ignoring the urge to pass stool and some others. However, the primary cause of constipation in babies is the outcome of life changes such as the transition to solid or formula foods or toilet training or unhealthy diet habits.
Below are some of the home remedies for constipation in children that can get your kid back to his or her smiling and jovial mood:
1. Triphala powder/ churna
It consists of three fruits, amla, harataki and vibhtaki. It is an excellent laxative and aids in regulating bowel and digestion movements. It can be given with one teaspoon with warm water or milk. Mix the powder with honey and give your children either early in the morning on an empty stomach or before they go to bed.
2. Raisins (Kishmish)

Guavas contain insoluble fiber in their seeds and soluble fiber in their pulp. They also aid in the production of mucus thus easing the passage of stool. As a parent, you should make a point of giving your children this fruit once in a while so as to combat constipation.
Oranges (narangi): Apart from being a great source of vitamin C, oranges or narangi have great fiber content. Give your children two oranges daily, once in the evening and once in the morning.
